Fife Council has re-appointed Vacman Cleaning as it's main void property services contractor. The contract, with an annual value of approximately £1million per annum, involves carrying out a range of cleaning, clearance, pest control and garden tidying tasks. Awarded against stiff competition from 9 other bidders Vacman will provide the service for a minimum 3 years. Fife Council is Scotlands third largest social housing landlord.
Commenting on the win Neil Montgomery, Managing Director of Vacman said " This is the largest contract of it's type in Scotland. Fife has more than 33,000 properties in their housing stock and issue around 4000 orders annually for clearing void properties and cleaning them to a high standard so that new tenants can move in quickly. Rapid turnaround is an essential element of the contract so that rental income is not lost and properties are quickly re-let. The Council placed a very high emphasis on quality service provision and environmental performance as well as on competitive pricing. Vacman scored the highest marks in all categories. We are really pleased to be able to secure the jobs of more than 30 of our staff who have consistently provided a top class service to Fife Council since 2006.

Vacman Cleaning have commenced work on 3 office cleaning and window cleaning contracts in Forres, Morayshire. The new clients are development agency Highland & Islands Enterprise, the research & development company Horizon Scotland and Benne,x a market leader in the provision of subsea. services. All are based in the Forres Enterprise Park, Morayshire.

Vacman Cleaning has been awarded a £3 million, contract in the Highlands of Scotland. The company, which already holds cleaning contracts in Lochaber, Skye and Ross & Cromarty for Highland Council, will start the contract on May 1st. Over 30 staff will transfer from the Council's TEC Services Department in the deal and a further 30 jobs will be created in Badenoch, Strathspey, Nairn, Caithness and Sutherland. Highland council has awarded Vacman a contract to clean bus shelters in the north of Scotland. Commencing April 1st 2010, the potential 5 year contract involves the cleaning of a range of shelters in Highland towns, villages and in remote locations on a monthly basis. Commenting upon the award Neil Montgomery, managing director of Vacman, said "This contract presents unique challenges as the works are spread over a very wide area, and many of the shelters are in remote rural locations. However, Vacman has a long history of succesfully managing contracts that involve servicing remote sites. We are aware that the choice of public transport in rural locations is very limited so we believe it's important that what is available is of the highest standard possible. We believe we were chosen to provide this service simply because of our track record of delivering results. We are looking forward to working with Highland Council to ensure that the travelling public can enjoy exactly the same standard of cleanliness in their shelters wherever they join the network".
